Evergreen Herb Garden in Placerville, California

Join Candis at her gardens and learn and the basics of Western Herbology while integrating it with the Oriental systems of Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese medicine. This class will include medicine making, how to grow herbs successfully, plant id, how to treat acute ailments, use of tonic herbs and food for strengthening vitality. You will also learn about your own constitutional needs and ways to balance yourself for better health and wellbeing. In August we will be taking a day trip to the High Sierras for plant ID.

Intermediate and Advanced Herbal Studies Program 2012 – Creating the Community Herbalist

This six month program integrates Ayurveda, Chinese and Western herbalism. It is designed for those who have the basics of Herbology and want to deepen their understanding of Herbalism and applying it in a clinical setting.

Join Candis in this six month program integrating the Oriental systems of Ayurveda and TCM with Western Herbalism. This program is for those who have taken other herbal programs and have the basics of formulation, plant id, and herbal medicine making down but want to go deeper in their understanding of herbalism and helping friends, family and clients. We will cover; evaluating the clients constitutional needs, tongue diagnosis, basics of pulse diagnosis, advanced formulation, how to use tonic herbs for building vitality and recognizing patterns of imbalances.

Hikes and Walks

Annual American River Herb Walk 2012

American River
Come and join Candis for the annual herb walk on the River. We will meet at Soil Born Farm's Rancho Cordova site and take the trails from there to the River. We will ID over 25 plants for medicine and food. .
Call evergreen to register and for directions. This is a very easy walk - all ages are welcome.

 

Herb Walk at American River Conservancy/ Nature Center in Coloma CA

High Sierra Herb Walks 2012

Carson Pass
Join us for the High Sierra Hike at Carson Pass. We will ID over 30 plants and see some beautiful country! Walk begins at 11am at the Carson Station and will go until around 5 pm. We will be car pooling from Placerville at 8:30 am for those who want to do that. Bring lunch, water, hat, a note pad and snacks. Those with heart conditions, bad backs, and sensitivity to high altitudes should not take this trip. We will be starting out at 8400’ and slowly climb to about 9000’.
